Day 12-14/63, 3 days in Paris
Our first full day in Paris started with a street art walking tour with our new friends from the boat‑bike tour, Susie and Raimund. In the afternoon the two of us visited the Eiffel Tower and rode the elevators to the top. The view gives you a good sense of the size of Paris. We walked a lot. The metro felt like an underground maze that took you everywhere.
On our second day we met up with Susie and Raimund in the morning and wandered the Latin Quarter, with lunch at a street‑side café. We then parted ways so Laurie could rest her sore knee and I could go do our laundry.
On the third day the two of us went back to the Latin Quarter to visit a street market, eat croissants and crepes, and enjoy some time in Jardin du Luxembourg. It’s a 17th‑century park with formal gardens, trees planted in patterns, and statues on pedestals. Peaceful and beautiful.
We enjoyed a cozy and yummy dinner at L’Ami Jean, a recommendation from Stacy at Foolhardy Wines in Walla Walla. Dinner at Kong was fun. The view and atmosphere were great. Our starters were the best part and outclassed the main dishes.
We visited Notre Dame too. Beautiful.
